SOMA STUDIO

was established in 1999 by Andrew Fee and Linda Corbett. Over the past 16 years the studio has grown to encompass SOMA Production Services - a construction / project management company which builds Andrew's architectural and interior designs and Bronzino Handmade - a production company for the manufacture of Linda's custom carpets and Andrew's furniture.

Principal Designer Andrew Fee has over thirty-five years experience designing and building custom homes. He has a fine art degree in sculpture from York University, Toronto and did graduate work at the Slade School, University of London, England. His early skills as a cabinetmaker with a unique sensibility for fine woodwork, carried through into liturgical commissions in the US and Canada.

SOMA PRODUCTION SERVICES

But it wasn't long before his pasion for building lead him to the design and construction of residential projects. With SOMA Production Services Andrew leads our construction / project management team enabling him to fully realize his designs from concept through construction while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Andrew's work is characterized by a global style that respects the origins of modernism. His ability to balance contemporary and traditional elements with ease is a great asset in both renovation and new-build design. Spaces layered with texture, enriched by craftsmanship, attention to detail and an experienced understanding of materials are the hallmarks of his work.

Design Partner, Linda Corbett has a fine art degree in painting and film from York University, Toronto. She did graduate study in photography at the Sir John Cass School of Art / London Metropolitain University, England. Her early work as a freelance photographer and documentary filmmaker honed the design and production skills she brings to her projects at SOMA.

BRONZINO HANDMADE

In 2012 Linda created Bronzino Handmade Inc. after her first trip to Nepal to meet carpet manufacturers. There the ancient art of weaving wool and silk carpets still upholds labour-intensive, traditional hand processes - from spinning, dyeing and hand-knotting to washing and finishing.

Linda's painterly approach to the carpet design process blends digital graphics and photographic imagery. The combination of high-tech and traditional processes allows Bronzino Handmade to offer clients the unique opportunity to own a custom heirloom carpet that is both a reflection of their personal style and a perfect fit for their living space. A portion of each carpet sale is donated to our partners at GoodWeave® a non-profit charity dedicated to ending child-labour and providing educational opportunities for children in weaving communities world-wide.

SOMA's projects in Canada and the US have been profiled in Interior Design, Architectural Digest, The Globe & Mail, House and Home, Canadian Interiors, Style at Home and HOUZZ.
