GARFIELD
URBAN MODERN
"tradition ends at the front door"

From the street, this Moore Park home reflects the style of a traditional Toronto neighbourhood. But tradition ends at the front door giving way to a modern architectural design plan suited to the needs of a young contemporary family. In fact the home’s transformation was so complete that only the original facade remains.
Inside living spaces flow naturally into the outside living room terrace and pool area. A two-storey cut limestone chimney at the rear of the house acts as an architectural feature housing a see-through fireplace of Corten Steel. The chimney has a stacked textural surface mirrored inside on the living area fireplace and on the two-story staircase mural wall.
Garfield is decorated with both contemporary Italian and custom furniture pieces, by Andrew Fee - BRONZINO Handmade. Original site-specific hand-knotted Nepalese silk and wool carpets are by Linda Corbett. Building Design and Interior Design - SOMA Studio.
